Este martes 10 de mayo ha fallecido Alfonso Posada a los 91 años de edad en su Vigo natal, uno de los grandes iconos del atletismo gallego y español a la vez durante más de medio siglo.
Alfonso Posada Sánchez (Vigo, 15.03.1931), atleta, juez, entrenador, directivo y además de todo esto, uno de los periodistas «Santo y Seña» de la historia del atletismo español y gallego a lo largo de más de cinco décadas que dedicó a todas estas facetas a lo largo de su dilatada vida. Miembro fundador en 1987 de la Asociación Española de Estadísticos de Atletismo (AEEA) de la cual era Miembro de Honor y una de las plumas más importantes y consolidada durante muchos años en la revista Atletismo Español, publicación donde dejó su talento a lo largo de muchísimos artículos, la gran mayoría desde la sección «Miscelánea» que le dio fama durante muchos años así como narrador y cronista incansable de la historia del atletismo gallego, siempre desde FARO DE VIGO, labor que comenzó a los 14 años y que ha seguido desarrollando hasta sus últimos días de vida, cronista DECANO de este histórico medio de comunicación.
